No more 'But it worked for me!': Dev Environments with Compose and Aspire
Tired of saying "it works on my machine" when someone tries to run your application? How about having a whole book about initial setup? Do you want to make sure everyone has a consistent environment and have it be part of the Git repository? Then this session is for you!
We will explore how to create consistent development environments using Compose and Aspire. We’ll start with plain containerization, layer on Compose to spin up whole stacks with a single command, and then bring in Aspire to wire everything together in a more developer friendly way. This can range from integrating with language models or emulating cloud services.
Through live examples, you’ll see how to go from a lonely app on your laptop to a shareable, spin-up-anywhere dev environment that your whole team can rely on. Your only machine dependencies will be a container runtime and .NET 10. (But your app can be anything)
